How to Thrive in Toxic Soup BDRM - Bamberger Detoxification and Renewal Methods
|

The body's ability to thrive depends on two vital factors: its ability to detoxify itself and its ability to renew itself. Only through an ongoing cycle of detoxification and renewal is the body is able to maintain optimal health. If the body is unable to detoxify and renew itself effectively, disease and ultimately death results.
To thrive in an increasingly toxic world - Toxins must be avoided to the greatest extent possible AND the body must be strengthened so that it is better able to adapt to a toxic world, a state we call "toxin resilience". Most detoxification programs target the toxins and ignore the general decrease in a patient's health status (resilience) that leads to an accumulation of toxins in the body. The Challenge for Physicians in the 21st Century is to help their patients to thrive in the midst of an increasingly toxic world. BDRM was developed to help doctors meet this challenge! BDRM addresses both the toxins themselves and toxin resilience (the ability of the body to thrive in a toxic world). It views detoxification as part of a DYNAMIC process of renewal and enlivening, and uses methods that activate the body's innate detoxification mechanisms, which allows the body to detoxify naturally from within. The importance of using methods that activate the body's innate mechanisms of detoxification - When the body's detoxification mechanisms are functioning optimally, the body in its innate wisdom naturally eliminates what is not needed and what is toxic, and conserves what is needed. These methods address the causes of toxicity. The danger of solely using external detoxification agents -- such as chelation therapy, to remove toxins is that these agents typically addresses symptoms, not root causes. Unless the root cause of increasing toxicity are addressed the body will continue to be vulnerable to toxins and soon become toxic once again. BDRM protocols - allow for the occasional use of external agents to support, rather than replace, the removal of those specific subluxations that reduce the body's ability to heal and detoxify itself from within. Toxic yo-yo - occurs when toxins are stirred up as part of the detoxification process, but the body is unable to release them. It is the cause of most adverse effects associated with detoxification, and is one of the main reasons why many people who have gone on a detox program quit the program, and want no part of detox in the future. When the body is in a state of toxic yo-yo for extended periods of time, it may be weakened by the failed detox efforts, causing the patient to get sicker, rather than healthier. Avoiding toxic yo-yo is extremely important if a patient is already weakened and in poor health. The body's innate detoxification priorities - Dr. Bamberger has identified a series of eight detoxification priorities that must be honored if the body is to effectively detoxify. Honoring these priorities helps prevent toxic yo-yo. Many illnesses are caused by the body's inability to effectively handle toxins - A key concept here is the "inability to adapt". That adaptation failure is an important component is made obvious by the fact that in the same environment one person will thrive, while another may become seriously ill, and another may die as a result of the adverse effects of these toxins. Clearly the issue is not simply the toxins themselves. Susceptibility to toxins and their adverse effects is highly individual - as is the capability of the body's natural detoxification mechanisms to handle the ever increasing level of toxins. Toxicity is progressive and cumulative. Toxicity Related Conditions Include:
