Toxin Resilience BDRM - Bamberger Detoxification and Renewal Methods

The Aim of BDRM is Toxin Resilience - which is the ability of an individual to maintain health and well being in a toxic environment. A person's toxin resilience partly inherited, partly influenced by lifestyle and life experience, and partly influenced by the person's beliefs about himself, the environment, and nature of his relationship with the environment. The toxin resilient person is likely to believe that the environment is good, supporting, and nurturing, that he is strong and able to effectively deal with the world around him. Toxic Overwhelm - When the level of toxins to which a person is exposed exceeds the ability of his body to effectively handle the toxins, a condition called "toxic overwhelm" results, and toxins begin to accumulate in the body, effecting first the superficial organs that were initially exposed to the toxins. As the superficial organs become saturated with toxins, the toxins then begin to progress to, and accumulate in, deeper and more vital organs, such as the heart and brain. The toxically overwhelmed patient is likely to believe that the world is bad, harmful, and dangerous, that he is unable to handle the world around him, and that he is powerless, weak, and unsafe. Belief and experience are like the "chicken and the egg". Belief gives birth to experience and experience gives birth to belief. The negative beliefs promote and perpetuate the disease. Addressing Toxic Overwhelm - often requires more than simply reducing toxic exposure and removing the toxins that have accumulated in the body. It also involves changing negative, disempowering beliefs about self in relationship to the environment, learning to see self and the environment in a new and positive way, releasing the focus on what is wrong with of the environment, a focus which in some cases of environmental illness has become quite obsessive. The Chameleon-Like Nature of the Toxically Overwhelmed Patient - The internal state of health and wellbeing of a toxically overwhelmed patient appears to be determined by the environment in which the patient finds himself, much like the skin color and body temperature of the chameleon are environmentally dependant. In the chameleon this is because his body does was designed this way. In the toxically overwhelmed patient it is because his adaptation mechanisms are not working properly, which leaves him at the mercy of his environment. Increasing Toxin Resilience - involves helping patients to become environmentally independent - a condition called "environmental autonomy". Stages of Toxin Resilience - as healing progresses
